mimosa hair honey

like Product Junkie, i probably need to place myself on probation. the bin that i keep my hair/beauty products in is overflowing. my initial solution would be get a bigger bin. but realistically, a bigger bin would not fit in the limited space that is my bedroom in my parents' house. plus it would not help to curtail my spending habits. so now i have resolved to using up all the stuff in there, no matter how much of an un-favorite it is. so here's a review of one of those non-favorites: carol's daughter's mimosa hair honey. 

this has all the potential to be the best thing ever. no petroleum, no mineral oil, no artificial colors. contains shea butter, cocoa butter, rosemary, lavender, sweet orange essential oil and other natural ingredients. this concoction promises to control frizz and add shine to natural or relaxed hair. that, it did not lie about. but here's the bad. sort of what i call lying by omission, it fails to tell you your hair  will be GREASY. the good is if i apply it with my hair still wet, the curl is maintained and my edges lay down a little better than normal. this conditioning hairdress in an 8 oz. jar is currently priced at $15.50. i SERIOUSLY doubt that is what i paid because i've had it for a WHILE. whatever amount i paid, i will not shell it out again and do recommend that anyone else does either. if you got this as a gift or was at someone's house and needed to use something, go ahead. verdit: just ok

    I TOO need to be on probation. I tried to do it when PJD announced that she was, but I didn't last a day!

    I haven't tried Carol's Daughter's Mimosa Hair Honey but it sure does sound delightful! :-)

    I cannot stand greasy hair. It doesn't seem like a bargain to me because I wash my hair every day, so I'd probably go through 1 or 2 jars a week. $15 for 8 oz is a bit excessive at that rate.

    Oh my goodness. I have this product at home and it is currently sitting in my "must go bag". I have taken the infusium bottles, carols daughter products and other items, placed them in a bag ready to be handed out. I know people who love some of the products I can't stand so hey better to give it to them then throw it out. It's great that you will make the best of what you have even if it is not your favorite.
    Mimosa gets the booooo from me, even though I applaud CD and how she has expanded her company.

    my sister has natural hair and she uses carol's daughter hair honey. from what she tells me, it works miracles on her hair. but i guess that's because hers isn't good at locking in moisture. she's mentioned the greasiness as well, but once it wears away, it leaves her hair feeling soft an looking incredibly healthy.

    Greasy hair is a no-no! Products that are light-weight are important. Hair is more free and filled with more bounce when it isn't so weighed down. They have many natural hair salons here in GA, that specialize in all types of hair, especially curly or kinky. And we all know how much women adore a great hairstyle!
