so if you are subscribed to me on youtube (and you're paying attention) then you know i've been trying out makeup looks for my brother's wedding in June. um, just realized. im already wearing a purple dress and purple shoes so why the hell and i planning purple makeup? no. no. no. no. no.

do over. i may or may not make more videos but im surprised the few people who watched my videos didn't bring attention to that fact. i can't be walking out looking like an 80's prom attendee. back to the drawing board. i probably will do the unthinkable and go with some bland ass neutral-type situation. ick!

product of the month

i went to mac to turn my 6 empties into a fun new make up item. i was disappointed to learn that i cant back2MAC for the new superglass :(. i'd bought disco blend and i was interested in a second but could not justify another $18.

i looked around and my eyes landed on cremesheen glasses. i already had a dazzleglass before and i was not in the mood for something sparkly again. cremesheen was just the finish i needed. as i swatched all they had to offer, my friend wasnt sold on the one i picked but i was. it's the perfect nude lip for me. i decided on "over endulgence" and i dont regret my decision.

the gloss was so fitting because on that same visit, the MUA let us play around with the items from the to the beach collection!!!! i will be over indulging in my makeup habit. here are my picks/what i plan to buy from the collection:

This beach-y look was super easy.here's what I used (steps to follow):

Eyes
TooFaced shadow insurance
Lorac e/s in "celebutant"
MAC e/s in "bright future"
MAC e/s in "era"
Maybelline collosal mascara

Face
NW45 concealer
Mineralize skinfinish dark
Blot powder

Lips
MAC hello kitty collection lipstick in fresh brewed

1. *optional*Fill brows with coordinating color- I used MAC "smut" e/s and an angled brush
2.*optional*Apply shadow insurance all over lid- this is a primer and it prevents creasing. U can skip if u don't have this problem.
3. Apply "bright future" from the inner lid to the middle lid- this is a vibrant yellow color
4. From the middle to outer lid, apple "celebutant"- this is an aqua blue shade
5. Blend where the two shadows meet to create a gradient hybrid color
6.Apply "era" up to browbone (or another neutral shade close to your skintone)
7. Apply concealer where needed
8. Brush mineralize to blend and serve as foundation
9. Finish with mascara and a nude lip like "fresh brewed"
10. *optional*if you have issues with shine, like me, apply blot powder to your t-zone.

Looks more involved than it really was. Took about 15 min. and only that long because I needs to clean every brush I was picking up and I didn't pull out everything I was going to use prior to starting.

exclusive first look

i was able to get my hands on a pre-release maybelline pulse perfection mascara! i think it's due out in stores in July but i'm letting you see what it's like before it hits the shelves of your local cvs/rite aid/walgreens/whatever.

style warrior unveiling party

this evening, i attended the style warrior party @ the MAC in gtown. it pays to be friendly with the MAs. my girl, lauren, put me on the list LAST minute. they had free mixed drinks (made w/ ciroc) and food. i neglected to bring my camera and my friend forgot hers in the office so no pics, sorry :( 

you're not missing anything because that store is tiny and they didnt really decorate. probably because the collection is not scheduled to release until may 21st. also, they are still peddling that "rose romance"crappy-ness. 

i was in much anticipation of this collection. i heard about it first like in january. you can read more about it @ temptalia. 

so what did i get? i picked up 'bright future' and 'tempting' eye shadows. 'tempting' is part of the permanent collection and i had my eye on it but i wanted it in the special style warrior collection. 

what will you be getting, if anything, from this collection? any events going on in your area?

i decided to use my 'rollickin' paint pot. i bought it because it was on sale at an outlet and it reminded me of the barbie car i had as a kid. im going to call this my barbie look because viva glam VI is so pink. here's what i used on one of my simpler looks:

HiP duo shadow in "flare"

L'Oreal's HIP eye shadows are currently on sale at CVS, buy one get one free. at 6.99 each, i decided this was a great deal. i picked up "mischief", a black and suble gold duo; and "flare", the product that i am reviewing today. the shadows are simple to apply and come with an applicator and a built-in mini mirror. you do not have to be a shadow expert to create a winning look. here is what i did. i hope you can see. also, excuse my unfinished look and undone hair...

my verdict: get 'em while they last!
